Pakistan's third gender recognized but still discriminated

New Pakistani national identity cards now have three official gender categories: The third gender category is for Pakistan's transgender community - often referred to as Hijras or Khwaja Saras. It's estimated that there are between 100,000 to 300,000 transgendered people living in Pakistan - many of them excluded from the conventional job market and forced into prostitution, begging or dancing.
