After weeks of silence on the subject, US President Barack Obama has pledged to seek a better balance between security and privacy. He's promised to make more information available to the public, bring in an outside representative to weigh in on decisions made by the secretive Foreign inteligence Surveillance Court and to form an independent panel of experts to review US surveillance policy.
