Iraqi forces capture Mosul airport

In order to drive the "Islamic State" out of Mosul, Iraqi forces launched a major battle and took control of the city's airport. US-led coalition forces cooperated in the offensive. Mosul is considered the last stronghold of IS in Iraq.
