The tourism boom in Iceland continues. Annual visitors are expected to soon outnumber the locals by seven to one. But like the Icelanders, tourists have to cope with the risks of volcanic eruptions.

The United States Geological Survey has issued a "red alert" for the Big Island of Hawaii which means a volcanic eruption is imminent. The alert also warns airlines of potential ash along air routes.
Iceland's biggest national park includes volcanoes, the continent's biggest glacier and spectacular vistas. It is also home to magnificent waterfalls powered by mountains of melting ice.
