If the world is to quit coal and gas for renewable energy sources, they have to be reliable and affordable. Is that realistic? Researchers have crunched the numbers and come up with some surprising answers.
With polluted air and a coal-hungry economy, India is using the UN climate conference to show the world it can continue rapid development without fossil fuels. But the South Asian country still runs on dirty energy.
