The 32nd edition of the Africa Cup of Nations it to be hosted by Egypt from June 21 to July 19. This is the first time the biennial tournament is to be held in the summer. It is also the first to be made up of 24 teams.
Cameroon had originally been picked to host the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, but the Confederation of African Football (CAF) decided in January to move the tournament to Egypt due to delays in the completion of various infrastructure. Egypt are the most successful team at the Africa Cup of nations, having won the title seven times. Current champions Cameroon have won it five times.
Two second-half goals completed a stunning comeback for Cameroon against overwhelming favorites Egypt. Just as the game seemed to be heading for extra-time, the underdogs scored late on to record a famous victory.
Ghana will face Cameroon in the Africa Cup of Nations semifinal on Thursday after goals from Ghana's Ayew brothers saw off Congo in a bruising encounter. They will be joined by Egypt, who beat Morocco with a late winner.
Four of the opening six games have ended in draws at the Africa Cup of Nations, but there has been plenty of drama. Title holders Ivory Coast couldn't get past Togo, while DR Congo landed a lucky punch to beat Morocco.
