Action star Chuck Norris dies aged 86

The martial arts master was best known for playing a Texas lawman on TV. Even after his acting career, he became the subject of a whole genre of internet memes celebrating his reputation for unassailable toughness.

Action star Chuck Norris reflects on his career and the impact of Walker, Texas Ranger, a role honored by the real Texas Rangers. Before acting, Norris was a world‑class martial artist and six‑time karate champion. He later became known for his Christian faith, support for gun rights and outspoken conservative views in the US and Europe.
