On April 7, 1994, Rwanda became witness to a genocide that would sweep the country for the next 100 days. Everyday citizens armed with machetes and clubs attacked and killed fellow Rwandans, believing they were killing enemies of the state. On the 25th anniversary of this catastrophe, Eva de Vries spoke to one of the eyewitnesses in Kigali about the unexpected way he survived.
