In China, up until a few decades ago, bicycles were seen a cultural icon, and a symbol of progress. Then, with the economic boom, cars took over the streets in China's megacities and bikes were seen as backwards. Now, a new generation is discovering bicycles. The rental bike business is booming - and big data is part of it.
