World in Progress: Living with HIV in Yunnan, China

In China, more than a quarter of new HIV infections affect people in Yunnan province in the southern part of the country. Yunnan is close to the so-called Golden Triangle, it’s a region on the Mekong river that borders on Thailand, Laos and China - and is notorious for drug trafficking. HIV/AIDS is a major threat.
