Humpback whale "Timmy" is being transported from the Baltic Sea toward the North Sea after spending weeks in low-salinity waters.

Weighing 12 tons and measuring 12 meters (39 feet), the whale needs saltier conditions to survive and feed.

While rescuers remain hopeful as his condition stabilizes, experts warn the animal is still seriously ill and may not survive. If successful, Timmy could soon reach the Atlantic Ocean.
