The state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania is earmarking hundreds of millions of euros for further investment in tourism. The hope is that (in the coming years) the beaches, cities and hotels will fill up - even in winter.
On Thursday evening, the biggest maritime festival of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern has began in Rostock: The city expects more than 190 traditional tall ships and museum ships from twelve countries.
