The boys rescued from a cave in Thailand are finally with their families, after the hospital stay that followed their 18-day ordeal. After a TV appearance, the boys began their first day home with a trip to a Buddhist temple.
Spanish rescuers have recovered the body of a 2-year-old boy who fell into a deep narrow well nearly two weeks ago. Specialized mining crews had conducted a complex operation in an attempt to save the toddler.
Three stateless soccer players and their coach have been given Thai citizenship a month after they were saved from a flooded cave. The UN welcomed the decision, which gives them access to a range of new rights.
Rescuers say the 12 boys and their soccer coach do not yet have the adequate diving skills needed to leave the flooded cave. The announcement comes amid fears of further monsoon rains forecast for the coming days.
