Sri Lanka reels from floods, hundreds still missing

Cleanup is underway in Sri Lanka following Cyclone Ditwah and the devastating flooding it caused, wiping out homes, farmland, and infrastructure. At least 486 people were killed.

Deadly floods in Sri Lanka have left millions affected at the height of tourist season. Survivors say rebuilding is impossible as water still seeps through the land. President Anura Kumara Dissanayake declared a state of emergency and deployed troops for rescue and cleanup. International aid from India, Bangladesh and others is arriving to help the country recover from this devastating disaster.
