Hackers are an ever-present threat in the online world, and one that needs to be defended against. This week I talk to an expert about who these hackers are, and how to avoid falling prey to them.

You'd better have a secure website if you want to keep out the hackers

It doesn't matter what kind of website you run on the Internet, you are always a potential target for hackers. Some hackers are only in it for the bragging rights, so even if you only have five regular readers, you had better make sure your blog is secure.

That is where Wordpress security expert Mark Jaquith comes into the picture. Wordpress is one of the largest blogging software platforms, and Jaquith has had lots of experience hardening the system against unwanted attention from the hacker crowd.
