German police carried out more searches in Berlin on Monday in a continuing investigation into a suspected planned attack against Iraqi Prime Minister Ayad Allawi during a visit to Germany last week. The federal prosecutor's office here said an unspecified property was searched and no one was arrested during the raid. Three Iraqi men are now being held in connection with the alleged plot after raids in three German cities on Friday and Saturday. They are suspected of belonging to the Islamic extremist group Ansar al-Islam. Allawi had arrived in Berlin late Thursday on his first trip to Germany since taking office six months ago, but several appointments on his visit were cancelled because of security concerns.
