It’s no secret that much of our waste ends up in landfill. In France, a combination of factors, including building contractors not being careful with how they dispose of waste, have caused illegal landfills to appear all over the country.
Francois de Rugy has said that the allegations meant he was no longer able to carry out his job properly. The resignation heaps further pressure on President Emmanuel Macron's government, which critics say is elitist.
