Israel: Refugees in Detention Centers

The stream of refugees from Africa to Israel is increasing. More than a million arrived from southern Sudan over the course of a few months.

Few of them receive residence permits in the country, so they're sent to Holot, a detention center in the middle of the Negev Desert. The situation has divided the nation. Some Israelis are demonstrating for better treatment for the Africans. Others want them to be deported as quickly as possible.
