How important is it to have breaks from alcohol?

A glass couldn't hurt……….says the German who thinks he's earned a beer or glass of wine. Yet many people don't limit themselves to just one glass. But maybe they should consider it.

Anyone who drinks alcohol every day risks doing damage to their liver. Danish scientists report in the "Journal of Hepatology", that the risk of liver cirrhosis increases not only with the amount of alcohol consumed but also the frequency of consumption. The scientists believe that daily consumption of beer, wine or high-percentage alcohol hinders the renewal of cells in the liver. They therefore recommend abstaining from all alcohol at least one or two days a week.
