The transatlantic slave trade that would eventually claim millions of victims began 400 years ago. American Marcus Taylor is one of their descendants. He’s now turned his back on the US, and moved back to the continent his ancestors were taken from.
In the year that marks 400 years since the first enslaved Africans were forcibly taken abroad, Ghana – one of their key departure hubs on the continent – is calling their descendants home to visit, live, and invest.
During an interview with TMZ, US rapper Kanye West said 400 years of slavery "sounds like a choice." After outrage ensued, the artist took to Twitter to try and explain himself.
