After a grueling 105 miles from Gerardmer to Mulhouse on Sunday, Tony Martin crossed the finish line first to give German riders their fifth stage of the nine raced.

Martin finished with a time of 4 hours, 9 minutes and 34 seconds. Switzerland's Fabian Cancellara rolled in second, just 2 minutes and 45 seconds behind. Greg van Avermaet of Belgium finished just behind.

The overall leader isn't much of a tourist - France's Tony Gallopin has so far clocked 38 hours, 4 minutes and 38 seconds over the race's 1,622 kilometers.
