For two days in early July, the leaders of the world’s 20 major economies are meeting up in Hamburg, and security is writ large for the hosts. Germany will spend an estimated €130 million on the event. A good investment, or a huge waste of money?
Twelve African heads of state are meeting with Chancellor Merkel in Berlin to take stock of the G20 "Compact with Africa" initiative. Merkel said the project puts African countries and the West on an "equal footing."
