The board of directors at Deutsche Telekom have finalized plans for a corporate restructuring to be introduced in the coming year. The communications giant is aiming to become more customer-oriented by ending divisions between its T-Com fixed-line phone unit, T-Mobile wireless unit, T-Online Internet business and T-Systems information technology services. According to the German business daily Handelsblatt, Telekom CEO Kai-Uwe Ricke has already presented a reorganization plan to senior executives. No personnel decisions connected with the restructuring have been made yet. A Telekom spokesperson declined to give any figures as to how much money the company hopes to save through the changes. Telekom's business outlook for the rest of 2004 remain unaffected by the plans.
