After the devastation of Typhoon Haiyan, hundreds of thousands in the Philippines urgently need help. The 200,000 inhabitants of the destroyed port city of Tacloban are among those hardest hit.
Hong Kong and Macau are battening down the hatches as the super typhoon hits southern China. Mangkhut left at least 64 people dead in the Philippines, as it smashed property, tore down power lines, and caused landslides.
Over two dozen people have died and widespread damage reported as the monster Typhoon Mangkhut crashed into the northern Philippines coast and Taiwan. The storm is also expected to hit Hong Kong and southern China.
New research from Lloyd's and CEBR has shown that vast assets are underinsured, posing a huge threat to livelihoods particularly in poorer nations. Those most at risk are also those with the lowest insurance levels.
Mangkhut is sweeping across southern China after pounding Hong Kong and leaving dozens dead in the Philippines. Officials said the damage in Hong Kong is "severe and extensive." Authorities are preparing for the worst.
