Czech coal controversy

Three huge opencast brown coal mines have created a lunar-like landscape in the Czech Republic's North Bohemia. Now, the mining company wants to lift limits that have bounded the mine for a quarter of a century. But that would also mean destroying the homes of more than 2,000 people living in the region.
