Coca-Cola appears to be moving closer to ending a five-year European Commission antitrust probe. The company has said it will change its system of giving incentives to retailers to assure good product placement, a move welcomed by Brussels on Monday. However, the outcome of the lengthy inquiry is not yet guaranteed, said the European Commission. Informal consultation with the main retailers and competitors has started and if that is successful the commission is ready to start more official market tests, which could start as early as this October.
