American states with the highest percentage of drivers taking photos.

Captured in fifth: Oregon. Geo-tagging was used to locate the state where these reckless and sometimes illegal pictures were taken. Over 70-thousand Instagram posts with hashtags like selfiewhiledriving and drivingselfie were analyzed. Oregon came in at over 38 Instagram posts per 100-thousand inhabitants.

Cruising into fourth: Wyoming. The least populous state still has forty people of 100-thousand snapping while driving. The roads may be empty, but there are plenty of other things on the highway to hit besides cars.

Chillin' in third is California. Self-driving cars are already on the road in the Golden State. That would certainly make for a safer selfie! Unlikely though that the 58 per 100-thousand Californians self-photographing at the wheel are all in self-driving cars.

Snapping second is Nevada. It seems the gambling bug doesn't stay in Vegas with so many drivers playing Russian Roulette with their lives - as in hashtag Hope-I-dont-crash - nearly 70 per 100-thousand in fact.

Clinching first is Hawaii. The Aloha State is so photogenic, that drivers just can't stop taking pictures, even when they're on the road. Nearly 100 drivers and riders in 100-thousand post photos on Instagram. At least they're buckled up.
