The stunning Cycladic island with its white houses carved into cliffs 330 meters above sea-level is one of Greece's most popular tourist attractions. And spring is the best time to visit.
The idyllic district of Anafiotika was constructed on the northeastern side of the hill leading up to the ancient Acropolis, and its 100-odd, tile-roofed houses are as old as the modern Greek capital itself.
Among the most sought-after hotspots are Crete, the Cyclades Islands of Mykonos and Naxos, and the Ionian Islands, of which Corfu is one.
A record number of tourist visitors in 2016 was not enough, but it did certainly do the country good. As the 2017 tourist season starts, the industry is banking on an even better year.
