Pakistani government suspends polio vaccination drives

The Pakistani government has suspended an anti-polio drive following renewed attacks against polio workers. Nearly 100 people on vaccination teams have been killed there since 2012. The attacks have been blamed on fake videos and rumors about vaccination.

This video grab obtained by AFPTV from TVM on April 8, 2024 shows the boat, that sunk off the north coast of Mozambique killing 96 people, on the Island of Mozambique. A makeshift ferry boat has v, including children, authorities said on April 8, 2024, raising an earlier death toll.
The converted fishing boat, carrying about 130 people, ran into trouble late on April 7, 2024 as it was trying to reach an island off Nampula province, officials said.

Pakistan: Deadly blast targets police at vaccination drive 30.11.2022

The blast in the city of Quetta was claimed by the Pakistani Taliban, who struck a cease-fire with Islamabad following talks in Kabul in May. It targeted police officers who were escorting a polio vaccination drive.

Polio: World leaders pledge $2.6 billion to eradicate virus 18.10.2022
