Three miles off the coast of the Republic of Ireland lie the Blasket Islands. Today they are uninhabitated, but they were once a haven for local writers, who produced classic stories in the Irish language. In fact, nowhere in the world has a community written so many books as on the Blaskets. DW visited the ancient, untamed islands to find out more about its rich cultural legacy.
