The oil boom has made the six Gulf States some of the most popular destinations for work migrants. While most migrant workers in the Gulf work in low paid jobs like construction or domestic work, there are also many highly skilled migrant workers in well-paid jobs in Dubai or Riyadh. And it's not just the money that draws, for instance, German expats to the region.
