In Kangemi, one of Nairobi’s slums, a 33-year-old business woman runs a successful kiosk that also serves as a French fries stall, a bank and a mini supermarket. Lilian Washela Kingata gets up at 3 am every morning and stays up until 11 at night. In the time in between, she is doing everything to keep her small business going.
