The Essen Motor Show is all about creative tuning and dream cars. 2017 was the event's 50th anniversary. Among the cars featured: a converted jet-engine-propelled US school bus, and a Beetle with half a meter of its middle removed.
It'll be the first car show since a German court empowered cities to impose bans on diesel cars, leaving Europe's biggest automakers in a spin. A looming trade war with the US is another worry. Janelle Dumalaon reports.
