Transgender Muslims in Indonesia try to find a niche to practice their faith

In Indonesia, homosexuality is not outlawed, but the Islamic Indonesian Ulemna Council has declared it evil or haram. But in a quiet alley in the ancient Javanese city of Yogyakarta, Mariyani, a 50-year-old transsexual hairdresser, has turned part of her salon into an Islamic school, where gay, lesbian and Transgender Muslims can pray and discuss their religion in safety.
