Valentina Carrasco has worked with the award-winning Catalonian theater group "La Fura dels Baus" for the past ten years. She transposes a few of the sequences of the "Colón Ring" into the 1970s - the period of Argentina's military dictatorship. Symbols of that age are seen on the costumes, while the characters also make references to the period in their behavior and gestures.

Carrasco studied music, dance and literature in Buenos Aires and kicked off her career as a director's assistant in Paris and Barcelona. With "La Fura dels Baus," she created productions of "The Magic Flute" (at the Ruhr Triennale in 2004, and in Paris and Madrid), "Bluebeard's Castle" (in Paris in 2005), "The Rhinegold" and "The Valkyrie" (in Florence and Valencia in 2007) und Ligeti's "Le Grand Macabre“(in London in 2009).
