The 77 Percent: Crafts against migration

In Ghana, the upper east region is one of the poorest regions of the country. In the dry season, many find it difficult to find work. Looking for work, many young people leave their rural communities for the big cities. But now a group of young people are learning traditional handicrafts like basket weaving and sandal making in order to provide them with work and avoid migration to the cities.
