Venezuela is a country in crisis. Many citizens lack access to food, and medicines are in short supply. People are starving. Residents say the socialist government is to blame. Now on top of everything else, many regions are suffering power outages.
Fourteen countries from North and South America have issued a plea for Venezuela to "re-establish democracy" by releasing political prisoners and holding national polls. An economic crisis is crippling the country.
The government of President Nicolas Maduro said Venezuelan migrants were answering his call to "stop cleaning toilets abroad" and come back home. Maduro has branded the regional refugee crisis a "right-wing campaign."
