Located off the coast of Ireland, Tory Island is famous for claiming to never have had rats. Its 140 residents think this is due to the island's special clay.

'b# Although there's no scientific proof to support their theory, island residents claim their clay is sacred. It's regularly removed from the grave of seven people found dead in a boat which was washed onto the island more than a century ago. The sacred clay has made the island famous. Many here hope this will help it attract more visitors and tourist revenue.
