They were Hitler supporters, but most escaped unscathed. For decades, lawyers with a Nazi past worked for Germany's Ministry of Justice and were never prosecuted. Instead they ensured that Nazi criminals were never brought to justice. Now the ministry has asked an independent commission to investigate its past.
