There has been more bloodshed on the streets of Myanmar as security forces use increasingly violent tactics to deter protests. Civilians are demanding the return of their elected leaders - and an end to the military junta.

Police in Thailand have arrested three journalists who escaped across the border from Myanmar, charging them with illegal entry. Fellow journalists have warned their lives could be in danger if they are sent back.
The Kachin Independence Army said it shot down the helicopter in response to airstrikes. Meanwhile, Germany has joined a number of countries in condemning the junta's treatment of journalists.
At least one person has died in northern Shan state as youths carried a banner that read: "We cannot be ruled at all." Deaths have also been reported in the central town of Wetlet.
