Many space probes have investigated Mars in the last few years, and have produced fascinating and detailed images from one of the earth’s planetary neighbors.
The landscapes look idyllic and dynamic. Windblown dunes move across the planet, centimeter-by-centimeter. Until now, no one believed Mars’s atmosphere could generate this type of weather. Scientists have also found huge reserves of water in the form of ice. Much of it is below the surface, but there are also huge deposits on it. It’s estimated that if all the ice melted, the Red Planet would be covered in a layer of water 11 meters thick. Tomorrow Today shows the latest images from Mars.
