After over 10 years in a Russian prison camp, Putin critic Mikhail Khodorkovsky has been pardoned and freed. He flew straight to Germany on Thursday.
Ukrainian director Oleg Sentsov has been on hunger strike in a Russian jail for more than three months. Now the Kremlin has rejected his mother's request for clemency, and said Sentsov should request the pardon himself.
Vladimir Putin is eager to leave his post after his next term, the Kremlin critic and onetime Russian oligarch Mikhail Khodorkovsky says. He urged Russian voters to send a "message" in Sunday's election.
Nearly 1,600 protesters were arrested during anti-Putin protests across the country. Human rights groups have called on Russian authorities to "immediately release all peaceful protesters."
The far-left Kremlin critic, serving a one-month sentence for illegal protesting, has been taken to a Moscow hospital. Sergei Udaltsov spent many years in jail for his opposition towards Russian President Vladimir Putin.
