For six years, the "Ghetto Classics" program has been bringing classical music to poverty-stricken areas of Nairobi. More than 300 young people have found their lives transformed by turning to Brahms and Bach.
Kika Materula spent most of her life studying music abroad. Back in Mozambique, she founded the Xiquitsi project in 2013. Its main purpose is to bring classical music to disadvantaged children. Xiquitsi is now working towards having the first symphonic orchestra in Mozambique.
