Inside Europe: Small reeds make a mighty noise

Think of your favorite saxophone or clarinet solo. Perhaps it's a bassoon or oboe playing in your head. There's a good chance the reed in that instrument was produced from a giant cane plant grown in the Var region of southern France. Dave Kattenburg traveled to the village of Carqueiranne, where one family has been producing music reeds for three generations. It's a labor of love.
