Poland drops IVF funding

Poland's conservative government has decided to end state financing of IVF, which has long been criticized by religious groups and the church. In response to the move, local councils in two major cities have announced they will refund much of the cost of IVF treatment for childless couples, who can now only turn to expensive private clinics for help.
