Dusseldorf police have opened an attempted murder investigation after Innogy CFO Bernhard Günther was attacked by two men with an acidic substance. The business executive is reportedly seriously injured, but not in critical condition.
The finance chief of an RWE renewable energy subsidiary was struck by unknown assailants as he crossed a park near Düsseldorf. Police said they were investigating "in every direction."
