Peanut butter does indeed contain fat, but then we are supposed to draw 30 percent of our recommended daily calorie intake from healthy fats. And peanut butter is a good choice for that. It's a good source of protein, dietary fiber and vitamin E. The same applies to peanuts generally or other nuts such as almonds or walnuts.
