Hebron in the Israeli-occupied West Bank is a divided city. DW's Tania Krämer traveled there to meet Palestinian human rights activist Issa Amro. He described life under Israeli military control, with checkpoints and restricted movement a daily reality.

As more countries move to recognize Palestinian statehood, Amro hopes for accountability and legal control over Israel's actions. But he warns that, without enforcement, recognition might remain symbolic amid expanding settlements and increasing tensions.
