The German Book Prize 2013 has been awarded - on the evening before the Frankfurt Book Fair gets underway. This is the ninth time the accolade has been presented for the year's best novel in the German language. Similar to Britain's Booker Prize and the French Prix de Goncourt, the award's aim is to draw attention to German language literature, especially that of foreign readers.
