Gaming as a professional sport

E-sports have taken off around in the world. In the US, professional gamers now draw crowds, much like pop stars. In Germany, gamers have also started banding together in professional associations called clans. They compete in tournaments for prizes totaling millions of euros.

One of the most popular games internationally is the strategy game League of Legends. But only a select few amateurs make it into the pro leagues. One is Kaiserslauten native Christoph Seitz, aka "nRated”. The 23-year-old gamer recently joined the pro team SK Gaming. The team now has its sights set on the world championships this fall.
